WebcamWhere did the webcams go?

In December I took the decision to make Christian Chat totally free to all users. This was for a number of reasons:

  • We were no longer generating enough paying subscriptions to cover costs
  • After 14 years, the site needed to be simpler to maintain due to my other commitments.

Therefore in December Christian Chat was rebuilt and the system is now much easier to manage. However the costs for webcams is no longer covered. The site currently generates revenue from the generous donations from users (using the donate button) and from advertising.

Overall the site costs around £600 per year now to run - this excludes the costs for my time, upgrades or other emergencys that arise.

Webcams would cost a further £25 per month. If we raise a regular donation for webcams which would cover the additional cost I am happy to restore webcams. We would though need a regular commitment. If you would like to contribute to reinstating webcams you can make a regular donation below to the "webcam fund":

£5 per month

£10 per month

Thank you for understanding.
